Flow Measurement
ABLE Instruments & Controls offer an extensive range of flow measurement products including the McCrometer V-Cone Flow Meter & ABLE FT Ultrasonic Flare Gas Meter.
Consistent product quality, safety, process optimisation and environmental protection – these are only a few reasons why industrial flow measurement is becoming more important all the time. Water, natural gas, steam, mineral oil and chemicals are some of the fluids that have to be measured day in, day out. There is no single, across-the-board technology suitable for all these applications, so you can choose the flowmeter best suited to your process needs from our extensive product portfolio.

From the communication-capable single measuring point to the complete solution for higher-level control systems: you can always rely on the fact that we customise our products to your process requirements. Together with automated process control and state-of-the-art communication interfaces (fieldbus systems), flow metering has advanced into more and more new fields of application in recent years.
Flow measurement has always been a particularly strong discipline for ABLE. With a comprehensive range of flow metering technologies at our disposal, suitable for liquid flow, gas flow and multi-phase measurements, ABLE have all the tools in the bag and associated expertise to ensure the correct application of flow measurement instrumentation.
For high accuracy mass flow measurement, ABLE offers the revered Rheonik Coriolis Mass Flow Meters with their patented Omega tube design for proven resistance to vibration, abrasion and corrosive media and full design pressure without secondary containment, unlike the more conventional straight tube Coriolis flow measurement devices. Its unique ability to operate at pressures up to 1070 bar means that Rheonik meters have obtained custody transfer approval for hydrogen applications according to MID MI002 / OIML R137.
Coriolis flow meters can be implemented across the industries, from oil and gas to automotive and from petrochemical to pharmaceutical. Where the precision and low flow, low viscosity capability really comes into its own is in chemical dosing for offshore applications and recipe metering for food and beverage.
ABLE are exclusive distributors of Rheonik liquid and gas mass flow meters. Products include Mass Flow Transmitters and Mass Flow Sensors.
When space is at a premium, minimal pressure loss is vital and an accurate liquid, steam or gas measurement is required under harsh conditions, the McCrometer V-Cone advanced differential pressure meter should always be considered. The V-Cone flow element’s integral self-conditioning negates the need for long straight pipe runs typically required by alternate flow technologies.
Steam is the most difficult fluid to measure. This is due to the high pressure and high temperature of steam and because the measurement parameters vary with the type of steam. Main types of steam include wet steam, saturated steam, and superheated steam.
Being a highly customisable device with a turn-down ratio of 10:1 or greater, V-Cone meters provide the excellent flexibility and versatility for the various pipe sizes and configurations typically associated with steam measurement. Additionally, in steam, the centrally located cone inside the tube forms very short vortices as the flow passes the cone, allowing condensate and/or other small particulate matter to pass without affecting the measurement, thus giving much better accuracy instantaneously and over time.
V-Cones can be constructed out of a wide variety of materials, including exotics, such as Duplex and Hastelloy.
