    The Institute of Measurement and Control is a British learned society. It began in the 1940s as the Society of Instrument Technology. It is a licensed member of Engineering Council UK, registering candidates as chartered engineers, incorporated engineers and engineering technicians.

CIWM sets the professional standards for individuals working in the industry and has various grades of membership determined by education, qualification and experience.
