PetroChad (Mangara) Limited
Glencore plc is an Anglo–Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company with headquarters in Baar, Switzerland. Through its Chad E & P asset company, PetroChad (Mangara) Limited, Glencore operates the Badila and Mangara oil blocks/sites in Chad.
The objective of PetroChad’s Moundou Power Station Project is to enable Chad’s second largest city to generate electricity from natural gas produced at the Mangara Field (currently Moundou uses diesel fuel generators for power generation).
PetroChad have contracted ABLE to supply a number of Turbine Flow Meters for U & M-Pad Water Injection and Disposal applications on the power station upgrade. ABLE are also quoting for additional supporting instrument packages comprising pressure and temperature transmitters, pressure regulators, Coriolis mass flow meters and pig detectors. Moundoe itself lies on the Mbéré River (a tributary of the Western Logone) some 475 kilometres south of the capital N’Djamena. It is the main city of the Ngambai people. Moundou has grown as an industrial centre, home to the Gala Brewery, which produces Chad’s most popular beer and the cotton and oil industries.
