Dutch FPSO provider SBM Offshore has begun the topside integration phase on the Liza Unity FPSO in a yard in Singapore. Once completed, the FPSO will be deployed at ExxonMobil’s Stabroek offshore block in Guyana and become Guyana’s second FPSO in production.
The FPSO is designed to produce 220,000 barrels of oil per day. It will also have an associated gas treatment capacity of 400 million cubic feet per day and water injection capacity of 250,000 barrels per day. The FPSO will be spread moored in a water depth of about 1,600 metres and will be able to store around 2 million barrels of crude oil.
WM Coulthard, an established UK based manufacturer of bespoke lubrication and lube oil systems, were contracted to provide Series Progressive lubricant skids to the project. Having built their reputation for the high quality and longevity of their products in demanding environments and industries, the integrated level instrumentation must meet the same criteria. Consequently, WM Coulthard approached ABLE Instruments for the appropriate process control instrumentation to address the level applications on their lubricators. ABLE duly supplied a combination of the Magnetrol ATLAS Magnetic Level Gauges for visual indication and Magnetrol’s best-in-class Eclipse Model 706 Guided Wave Radar Transmitter to provide an independent linear 4-20mA (HART) control signal
