Dana Petroleum

Following a successful survey and trial, ABLE have supplied their SlugMaster Intelligent Flow Meter to Dana Petroleum for deployment on the Triton FPSO OSPAR produced water outlets from the production separators. The SlugMasters will be installed on the 12” Guillemot and Bittern polishing vessel lines and the 8” Common polishing vessel line.

The ABLE SlugMaster has been specifically designed to achieve an accurate, robust and effective flow measurement under conditions of high gas entrainment such as those experienced on the Triton produced water lines. The meter uses dual technologies with a smart voting system and cross calibration for a seamless change over during transient conditions.

The SlugMaster is true to the philosophy underpinning the ABLE’s innovative Master Series of metering products – the resolution of demanding application challenges in order to consistently deliver accurate flow measurements during process upsets and fluctuations in composition that would defeat conventional meters.

Dana’s Triton FPSO is located in block 21/30 approximately 120 miles east of Aberdeen, and produces oil and gas from the Bittern, Clapham, Pict, Saxon, Guillemot West and North West fields.

Triton is Dana’s first major operated asset in the UK, it consolidates the company’s strong position in the Central North Sea and is a core part of their strategy to acquire more operated positions where there is a strong commercial and operational rationale to do so.
