As part of the edible oil extraction process, seeds such as soybean, rapeseed, cotton and sunflower are husked, cleaned and crushed. The crushed seeds are then heated to high temperatures in a steam bath before being put through a high volume press to liberate the oil from the seed pulp. The seed pulp and oil are then put through a hexane solvent bath and steamed again to extract more oil. It is for the critical application of monitoring the level in the hexane bath that Europa Crown have standardised on ABLE’s highly reliable range of Magnetic Level Gauges.
